FAQ
Common questions about custom gunite pool construction, cost, and process.
Custom gunite pools in our markets typically range from $80,000 to $200,000+ depending on size, shape, features, and site conditions. We provide detailed line-item pricing after your design consultation — no vague allowances.
Plan for 4–6 months from design consultation to water in the pool. Permit approval varies by jurisdiction (4–8 weeks), followed by 10–16 weeks of construction. In Idaho, the build window is May–October, so a fall or winter consultation is ideal for a summer project.
Yes — financing is available. We discuss financing options during your design consultation and work with partners to help make your project happen. See our financing page for more information.
Book a design consultation. We schedule a site walk at your property, evaluate conditions, discuss your vision and budget, and determine whether a project is feasible. No commitment required.
Gunite is pneumatically applied concrete — shot through a hose at high velocity onto a steel rebar cage, forming a fully custom, dense concrete shell. It has no shape limitations, lasts 50+ years structurally, and holds its value better than fiberglass or vinyl. Fiberglass pools are limited to pre-molded factory shapes and typically show their age after 15–20 years.
Yes — all pool builders do. The difference at Maverick is that we vet our subs rigorously, we schedule and coordinate every phase ourselves, and we inspect each phase before authorizing the next one. You deal with us, not with a roster of separate contractors.
Our owner manages every project directly. We run the schedule, make the calls, handle the inspections, and solve problems before they reach you. You get regular progress updates throughout the build.
We install Hayward equipment as standard: variable-speed pumps, cartridge or DE filters, gas or heat pump heaters, and OmniLogic automation. Hayward equipment is reliable, widely supported, and controllable from your phone.
The primary build window in Treasure Valley is May through October. We plan projects to start in spring and target completion before fall. Some work can extend into early November depending on weather conditions.
Building, electrical, and health department permits are required in both Ada and Canyon counties. Specific requirements vary by city — Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Star, Caldwell, and Kuna each have their own building departments. We manage all submissions.
We schedule Idaho projects to complete before the first hard freeze. If you want your pool ready for summer, your design consultation should happen in fall or winter so permitting is complete by the time ground thaws.
Our primary service area is Bakersfield and the surrounding Kern County communities. Call us at (661) 414-0888 to discuss your specific location.
